Estate acquisition. Amateur Broadcaster Radio Station Toy Model 500 by Bell Product circa 1957Two unit broadcast stations
This set is sold as a ""COLLECTIBLE DISPLAY ITEM"". They are scarce and, if found, typically are no longer functional due to deterioration/breakage of internal parts. We have researched this offering and, in the interest of full disclosure, outline our findings:
All components are present except for the one of the two antenna.
Exterior:
All knobs and indicator arrows are present (except one antenna as previously noted)
Back panels/operating instructions have come unglued on both units and will be
shipped that way for reattachment by the new owner if or when they wish.
Microphone and ear phone wiring appears in good vintage condition.
Extension cord used to connect the two units is unbroken but the plastic coating on the
wire has become brittle with age and is missing in many places.
When new the "antenna" had metal plates (broken off of the remaining antenna) on the bottom to complete the battery electrical connection.
As noted on the Operating instructions item 8 the station selector and voltage controls are "simulated".
Interior:
Wires and metal plates on the back of the volume knob are gone (both units)
Voltage gear wheels on the back of both units are gone.
Station selector gear on the back of the knob is gone on one unit.
Gear/wire for switching from "voice to code" is missing on both units.
Included is the original carton approx. 28" X 7" X 7" (ends, back and bottom panels). There may have been a top panel and front fold in panel at one time which was removed.
