has easy access to both pits. Pit #2 has large petrified logs and further digging will be required to uncover precious opals. Pit number 5 is where all the opals for sale on the website come from. My mining shed is located on Opalescence overlooking pit #5. Future plans are to work existing opal seams and banks. A backhoe was used for prospecting , D-6 bulldozer for excavating pits and a small excavator was used for breaking down banks. Make sure to visit “ our Opals for sale” link to see resent finds from Opalescence Opal Claim.

    Virgin Valley Mining District
Nevada is a mining friendly state, and having a claim in a mining district creates great opportunities to discover opals. The group of three claims being sold separately have easy access from a two lane gravel county road. Each claim has a single BLM gravel road through them. The claims are three miles from Royal Peacock mine and amenities, four miles from a year round free campground / potable water / 24/7 showers and hot springs pool. The claims have well marked corner posts. The famous Opal Queen and Bonanza mines are on the road north of the claims. Click on the links above for details on each claim sale. The owner/seller will remain on the claim with the buyer for two weeks to ensure smooth transfer and success.
