Description
Antique White brand sewing machine. Shipped with USPS Parcel Select Ground.Only the sewing machine head —no base for use. Initially purchased a couple of years ago, hoping to make a project of it (build a frame base, perhaps eventually "Frankenstein together" a foot treadle table with odd parts —you know, every boy's dream), but at this point, that's probably not going to happen, and I'd rather send it off to a good home.
All of the parts move nicely, so if you have the time and space to construct a base or entire table to make this little guy usable, he's otherwise ready to go!
WHO I AM, AND HOW I OPERATE!
I have had experience with buying and selling antiques and vintage items for almost thirty years, since the early 1990s, when my step-mother used to moonlight as an antiques buyer for rich families in Bloomfield Hills, Mich. (and its surrounding area), and I'd accompany her on buys, mostly near our home in Lenawee County, Mich., from the age of 12/7th Grade. My specialist period of antiques is the early 20th Century (circa 1900 to 1940), especially the Art Deco era (and with some knowledge of its revivals and derivative styles, including Googi, Streamline, Dieselpunk, etc...), as well as significant knowledge of the Art Nouveau movement. My primary income is Social Security Disability, which I supplement through my music, handmade arts and crafts, and sales of antique and vintage items.
I typically ship via USPS Priority Flat Rate packaging within the United States — except for larger items, for which I recommend First Class Package rates, and additional insurance for listings that end over 0.
International buyers should message me before placing ANY bids!
If you live in the greater metro-Detroit area, and can arrange to collect the item *in the Ann Arbor, Mich. area,* you can select the Local Pickup option. I'm too blind to drive, so you need to meet me within the AATA bus route and its hours of operation, when you select this option. I prefer to meet at my post office at Liberty Station in downtown Ann Arbor, or (after PO hours) at the Washtenaw County Service Centre, Ypsilanti City Firehouse, or Ypsilanti PD —these are the best options for your safety, and mine!
Due to the current public health concerns and associated restrictions on the local public transportation system (in addition to my own disabilities), it is possible that I may need up to 10 USPS Business Days (Mon. through Sat.) to take your purchase to the post office, but so far I haven't needed that long for most eBay listings! My usual Post Office schedule is Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, making one visit some time between 4-6pm, though I may stop there any day they're open.
All of my sales donate 10% to The Ypsilanti, Michigan, Mutual Aid Network, a community Far Left Wing group founded on Anarcho-syndicaliar and DIY-punk principles that works on building community connections. If you decide you don't want to bid or buy from me, because of this, that sounds more like your problem than mine. SNS, snowflake. 🤷🏻♂️
